Magic And Karma

Magic And Karma

Magic and Karma

Karma and magic have a very distinct and entwined bond with one another. In magic, there is the Three-Fold Law which says that whatever you do, will come back to you three-fold. In the Wiccan Rede, the wording is: "An' it harm none, do as thou wilt.". In other words, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Karma works pretty much the same way. Any negative or positive action or thought will stay that way until the energy is spent by acting on the person who performed that negative thought or action. When it comes to magic and karma all actions have a cause and effect. To put it simply it's Newton's Law which says, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." This is an important concept to keep in mind when practicing magic. Karma is why, in magic, intent is so important. If your intent is pure and for the good of others, then the karma that comes back to you will be positive in nature. However, if you use magic negatively, such as when you are angry or jealous, then the results of those negative emotions will come back as you three-fold. To put it in simple terms: we manifest our own reality through the choices we make every day and the thoughts and emotions that dictate our choices. Karma not only works with negative energy it also works with positive energy as well. If you spend your life doing good things then karma will reward you. So now you're probably thinking what's a person to do? You can't be good all the time. Well, there's a little escape clause called Grace by Christians and by other names in other religions. What this means is that once you learn a lesson totally and grow beyond the need to repeat this lesson over and over, any karmic debt accumulated by this lesson will be erased. Now this doesn't mean you can recklessly perform magic and not face the consequences three-fold. What this means is that if you make mistakes, which as humans we all do, but learn the lesson from those mistakes, the bad karma for that particular mistake will be erased, providing you don't repeat the same mistake. The main thing you need to remember is that if you use magic responsibly and for the good of others and the common good as a whole, then you are sending positive things out into the universe. In return, karma will reward you with good things. So practice safe, positive, and responsible magic and send out only what you are willing to receive back in return. Blessed Be.
